Structural Apparatus

		Engine 1 Engine One is a 1987 Ford/Grumman fire engine that the town purchased used and placed inservice in 2000.  This engine replaced a 1955 American Laflance fire engine that desperately needed to be replaced after 46 years of use.  A used engine was purchased in consideration of the town's financial situation at the time.  Engine One has a 1,000 gallon water tank, a 1,250 gallon per minute pump, 1,200 feet of four inch supply line, 4 pre-connect attack lines, a pre-piped deck gun, and a diesel generator.  This unit can accommodate a crew of 5 firefighters in its open canopy cab.  It carries a full compliment of firefighting equipment including five SCOTT self contained breathing apparatus, a ventilation saw, a ventilation fan, and hand tools.  A medical kit and hazardous materials equipment are also onboard.  Engine One is the first due engine for all fire alarms.

Engine 2 Engine Two is a 2007 Spartan/Crimson rescue pumper.  This unit replaced a 1971 Maxim pumper.  Engine Two carries 1,000 gallons of water, a 1,500 gallon per minute pump, 1,200 feet of four inch supply line, six pre-connect attack lines, a pre-piped deck gun, and a hydraulic generator.  Up to six firefighters can be accommodated in the enclosed cab.  In addition to a full compliment of firefighting equipment, Engine Two also carries rescue equipment to handle a variety of emergency situations.  Hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, and manual hand tools are onboard to extricate victims after a motor vehicle accident.  Equipment to handle medical emergencies and hazardous materials incidents are also onboard.  Engine Two is the second due engine for all fire alarms and is the first due engine for car accidents, hazmat incidents, and rescue scenes.

		Engine 3 Engine Three is a 1983 Ford/Middlesex pumper.  When this engine was placed into service it replaced two 1947 Dodge pumpers.  It carries a 1,000 gallons of water, a 1,000 gallon per minute pump, 1,200 feet of four inch supply line, five pre-connect attack lines, a pre-piped deck gun, and a gasoline driven generator.  It can accommodate 2 firefighters in its enclosed cab.  Engine Three has worked very hard for the Department for over 25 years and is still relied on heavily as the third due engine for fire alarms and first out engine for utility calls.

Tanker 1 Tanker One is a 1995 Freightliner/Conway 3,000 gallon water tender with a 400gpm gasoline driven pump and a 1,000gpm Newton dump valve.  Tankers are essential pieces of apparatus in providing a quick water supply in areas of town not protected by fire hydrants.  Tanker One carries a portable folding water tank that is set up at fire scenes.  The tanker dumps its water into the port-a-tank then heads off to be refilled and repeats the process until the fire is out.  Tanker One responds to all fire alarms out of the water district and responds out of town on mutual aid requests periodically.

Forestry Apparatus

		Forestry 1 Forestry One is a 1960 Dodge Power Wagon 4x4 brushfire truck.  This unit is known for its ability to go anywhere.  It features a 220 gallon water tank, a gear pump, PTO winch, and various handtools.  It carries a large amount of small diameter hose and several backpack style pumpcans to reach the head of any brushfire.  The truck's motor and body were overhauled by department personnel in 1991.  Forestry One has been fighting brushfires in the Brookfields for over fifty years and will hopefully be on the fire line for another fifty.  This truck is truly irreplaceable.

Forestry 2 Forestry Two is a 1986 GMC 1 ton with a 220 gallon water tank and a 400 gallon per minute gasoline powered water pump mounted on a flatbed body.  The truck itself was originally a Highway Department dump truck and was outfitted for Fire Department use in 1997.  Hose reels, storage compartments, an extended front bumper, and an electric winch were also added to the truck by Fire Department personnel to complete its transformation to the fire service.  Forestry Two is first due for all brushfires and utility wire calls.

Tanker 2 Tanker Two is a 1979 all wheel drive AM General 5 ton military surplus truck placed into service as a forestry tanker in 2001.  This unit was converted for fire service use by the members of the Brookfield Fire Department. A 1,200 gallon water tank, a gasoline powered water pump, a PTO winch, hose reels, lights, and a port-a-tank were installed.  The truck was equipped using old equipment from other vehicles and other sources at a minimal cost to the town.  Placing Tanker Two in service ended the practice of sending structural fire apparatus off road  to fight brushfires.  Fire Engines became stuck and were damaged while performing tasks that they were not designed to do.  Tanker Two is able to provide a reliable supply of water to the smaller forestry units operating at brushfires without committing engines to the scene.

Other Equipment

		Squad 2 Squad 2 is a 2000 Ford Explorer 4x4  assigned to the Fire Chief.  This vehicle was donated to the department from a town resident in 2006 in order to replace a rusted out 1986 military surplus Chevy Blazer.  It serves as a command vehicle on fire scenes and has specialized radio equipment which allow us to better communicate with neighboring departments.

Squad 1 Squad One is a 1998 Road Rescue support vehicle.  It was pressed into Fire Department service after serving as the town's ambulance for 11 years.  A multitude of equipment for firefighting, ice & water rescue, and fireground rehabilitation is onboard.   Squad One responds to all structure fires and ice/cold water rescue scenes.

		Air Trailer This utility trailer was obtained through a military surplus property program.  It has been outfitted with large capacity high pressure tanks of breathing air used to refilled air packs at a fire scene.  It also has storage space for spare air bottles, and can be towed by any of our 4 wheel drive vehicles.  The cascade tanks on the trailer are refilled back at the fire station using a specialized air compressor.  Both the compressor and the cascade system were purchased using money obtained from grants.

Boat 18 foot Jon Boat with a 40 horsepower outboard motor.  The boat, motor, and trailer were purchased using grant money obtained by the Brookfield Police Department.  It was then refurbished and equipped by the Fire Department to handle incidents on our lakes and rivers.
